More Than Monday

This past weekend I discovered a poster I had bought that is still waiting to be framed. Even though it has been tucked away for safe keeping it is no less remarkable then it was when I first fell in love with it. It's an amazing compilation of photos featuring dozens of species of butterfly wings.

The entire 26 letter alphabet and 9 numbers can clearly be seen in the a natural patterning of these butterfly wings. I took the poster out and tacked it up in my sewing room where i can easily see it... the magnificent colors and shapes all found in natures miraculous splendor will be a wonderful design tool and a true source of inspiration...

Did You Know?
Babies are born without knee caps!

No not really, but they don't start out as the knee caps we know. Made of cartilidge that develops into bone through ossification, baby knee caps don't show up on x-rays. Baby knee caps are very soft, flexible and actually pretty darn durable. With all of the crawling and the toddling that includes endlessly bumping them, baby's knees really are like little heavy duty shock absorbers. Ossification (cartilidge hardening to bone) starts at about 3 years of age and continues until about age 6. What devine timing for this process of ossification to start after the rugid, rough and tumble months of learning to crawl, stand and walk.  

I Know What I Meant!!!

Technology is such a wonderful thing but lately it's been driving me bonkers! While using an automated service computer I was interrupted about 5 times after my responses by this computer saying "I'm having trouble understanding you" even though I was speaking plainly & clearly. All I could think is "of course you're having trouble unstanding me you're a computer you idiot"...then I realized I was yelling at an automated service computer!!! UGH...transfer me to the nearest human!

It's More Than Monday

Today started slow and quiet...which is just what i needed after a very busy but productive weekend!  As I yawned and stretched then open my eyes in walks today's inspiration. He leaned over kissed my forehead and placed a steaming hot Starbucks latte on my nightstand. My husband went out  in single digit temperatures while I was still sleeping to get my favorite coffee. This is not unlike most every other day but today it hit me when he smiled and said good morning...

I Got Me One Amazing Man!!!

After 14 years of marriage my husband still inspires me with his love!!! Trust me we ARE NOT Ozzie &  Harriet but we are very much in love and I am grateful!!!

So take a lesson from the little ones in your life laughter plays an intricate role in not only your happines but in your good health!!! Finding laughter every day is the good for you medicine we can all enjoy. Have a good laugh today!

that almost all babies are born with blue eyes & within a few moments

of delivery their eye color can change. 

Why?

... it's because the melanin, which is the the brown pigment molecule
that colors your skin, hair, and eyes, hadn't been fully
deposited in the irises of your eyes.
The melanin reacts when it is exposed to ultraviolet light.

Eyes that remain light have less melinin...
the darker the eyes the more the melinin.

Our Mini-Mocs give away was organized by my wonderful colleague and friend Anna and it was hosted by the lovely ladies of the rock-rockingchair blog. Thank you to all of you who sent in such great photos of so many beautiful baby feet. This give-away was such a fantastic experience for us and for our clients that we will definitely be having more contests in the future.

My dear friend & colleague Anna (mini-mocs European sales exec.) made arrangements with the lovely women over at rockrockingchair blog to host our first European Mini-Mocs Giveaway.

A stellar photo submission concept and the beautiful baby feet vying for a pair of our fabulous leather mini-mocs made for a terrific giveaway.
