44

well today is president's day. while this fact entered my mind last evening when i thought to myself "bummer...the post office won't be opened tomorrow" this same thought must have leaked out of my brain sometime during the night. feeling great about getting an early start to the day i arose and rushed off only to find locked doors on a building that i have come to depend on. presidents day hmmm..... let's see our current president is number 44 and hey i'm 44 years YOUNG!

what other wonderful things does this number 44 belong too?

Bill Clinton (the 42nd President) and George W. Bush (the 43rd President) were born 44 days apart in the summer of 1946. (which in this case was lightyears apart)

Vicks Formula 44 is a cough suppressant that has come in quite handy this year (you should try the vapo-rub too)

44 is a poker game (yes i'm a gambler at heart but never with real money)

The code for international direct dial phone calls to the United Kingdom (home of some of my favorite musical groups & singers)

Forty-four is a tribonacci number, a happy number and an octahedral number. (if you can understand how any of this works you're too smart to be reading this blog)

The retired numbers for former baseball players Hank Aaron, Willie McCovey and Reggie Jackson; the number is sometimes considered to be a "hitter's number". (there is nothing as wonderful as the sound of a solid hit that makes it into the stands and the roar of the crowd as a player rounds the bases....oh come on baseball season i can hardly wait)
so while we've had lots of great presidents in our country's history worth celebrating i think today i'll celebrate the number 44 - 'cause in a 10 days i'll be 45 and those days of celebrating 44 will be gone.

I WANT MY LATTE!!!

while attempting to get my "get up and go" to get going by sipping on my yummy latte i thought i would share a few more wonderful handmade goodies with you from my favorites collection. there are so many talented people that i have encountered on Etsy - & i believe they all deserve a round of applause.
