The assumption is often that babies tiny ears are very sensitive to noise and sound. The fact is that they hear at the same volume levels we do. So why do they jump so easily, it seems startle at just about anything. Truth is, it's not because the noise is louder or softer when they jump like this, it's mostly caused by the fact the sound is new to them.
